- Arjun Toor Review added: 2018.11.01★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I had my laptop repaired from here as there was damage to the DC jack preventing it from charging. I was told by the staff that these sorts of repairs will not last much more than 6 months before becoming faulty again, due to the nature of the work and the soldering that is required. Not knowing any better I went for the repair at the agreed price - I won't disclose the figure but it was very much on the pricey side.
It has since (within 6 months) broken again so this time I got a few more opinions, and was categorically told that there's no reason for it to only last 6 months; a good job should definitely last for at least a couple of years. I was pleased to hear this but disappointed to learn that I was so misinformed by Manor Solutions. Out of interest I dismantled my laptop and found that the soldering job was a real mess, even to my inexperienced eyes. I showed a colleague of mine who is an ex- electronic engineer, who was astonished that I paid money for such poor quality work. The motherboard was damaged and surrounding components had been scraped and scratched also. The solder joints were clumsy and amateurish and the whole thing looked a total mess.
Another point I was upset about was that the staff were simply unable to provide me with a receipt of any sort for the replacement part - some absurd excuse about being invoiced by suppliers on account. I thought this was terrible service since I had asked in advance that I see a some proof of purchase of any new parts that went into the laptop.
I'm not one to leave such negative reviews, but it was a terrible first experience and I won't be returning for anything, and cannot recommend this place for repairs.
